For Forró we’ll polish your technique, explore fresh moves, and take your dance up a notch! It’s all about diving deep into the Roots style: adding advanced techniques, playful variations, and building a creative repertoire to make your dancing richer and more expressive.
For this level it’s vital a good weight transfer, a comfortable embrace and an easy recognition of the strong beat. Besides, the flawless execution of the following steps is key:
To keep the group consistent, we require a commitment of at least 7 out of the 10 sessions for the trimester. |
Salsa LA / In Line / On1 styleThe "youngest" of the styles of Salsa, the LA ("West Coast") Style became popular in the 1990's and has its origins in ballroom (Mambo, Swing and ChaChaCha).
Distinguishing features of LA Style are execution of turn patterns and figures in the "line", with the break steps on counts "1" and "5". This style is also characterized by fancy and often intricate arm styling by the follow to accent the "1" and "5" counts. The basic rhythm of "On-1" is quick-quick-slow. Starting with the LA style, you can learn easily & faster as well as be better prepared for other styles as well as other dances. //Schedule //Fees //Back to top //FR |
Modern Bachata +SensualWe teach Modern Bachata and we add elements of Sensual Bachata.
The Modern version is the most danced bachata style in the world. In it we find very romantic nuances, visual drops, twists and a hip strike on beats 4 and 8. The Sensual version is an evolution of the previous bachata, with more importance to the corporal expression and the variety of movements. Usually short distances are used, and the musical sensation is sought with eight hips and dry blows. The corporal expression between the couple is given more importance than turns or footwork. //Schedule //Fees //Back to top //FR |
Lindy HopThe most popular Swing dance style is the Lindy Hop, originated in Harlem, New York, in the early 1930s. It combines the structure of European dances with movements of African dances. Charles Lindbergh inspired its name when he ‘hopped’ the Atlantic ocean in 1927.
6 & 8 counts steps, open and closed positions, swing outs, fast rotations & high-energy footwork and the dancefloor is filled with smiles, euphoria and good vibes! Lindy Hop is a joyful, upbeat and free spirited dance that can be both wild and crazy, with fast moves and incredible aerial acrobatics; as it can be slow with relaxed and refined steps. Regardless age & fitness, once you got the Lindy bug, there’s no stop! //Schedule //Fees //Back to top //FR |
Solo JazzSolo Jazz, also known as Vernacular Jazz, is an improvisational dance originated in the African-American dance culture. Have you ever heard about The Nicholas Brothers, Fred Astaire, Josephine Baker, or the Whitey's Lindy Hoppers? Solo Jazz has various roots and influences such as Tap Dancing and Charleston and got popularized and worldspread in the 30s. Solo dance ability was, and it remains, as fundamental as couple steps.
Dancing is primarily something you do with yourself. By focusing on your own body, you find out your own superpowers! Then you’ll naturally shine with others! You dance independently on a floor with others, without direct contact with a partner, enjoying the rhythm, being inspired by each other, the music, the musicians… the sky is the limit! From the basic steps and roots, we will go over simple techniques to make you more comfortable and in control of your body movements. With your development of timing and rhythm, we will progress to routines, more flashy moves, and interpretation. More than recommended for Lindy Hop students and open to any other student from different dances! //Schedule //Fees //Back to top //FR |

If you were waiting for a sign, this is it! This is your invitation to step into the world of Forró, this dance that welcomes everyone, no matter where you come from. It’s your first step toward becoming part of the big forró family. //Schedule //Fees //Back to top //FR |
Forró RootsForró Roots is a fresh, fast-growing style that took shape in Brazil in the 2010s, inspired by traditional forró music and festivals like Itaúnas and Rootstock. Despite the name, it’s a modern style rooted in the “old school” rhythms and energy of Forró’s origins.
Roots keeps the embrace close, focusing on intricate footwork, walks, leg movements, and playful use of space - drawing inspiration from dances like Samba de Gafieira and Tango. It’s less about spins, like the Universitario style, and more about connection, groove, and creative lower-body work. Roots offers a rich and expressive playground for enthusiastic dancers. Many forrozeiros blend Roots with Universitário, creating a dynamic, evolving style that honors tradition while keeping forró fresh, social, and endlessly fun. //Schedule //Fees //Back to top //FR |

Cuban Salsa + Rueda de CasinoCuban Salsa is a style considered to be a more “street form” of Salsa. It’s danced on the “on 1” timing, just like Salsa LA. However, this style is danced in a circular fashion rather than in a line back-and-forth.
Also known as Casino, it incorporates movements from Afro-Cuban dances such as Rumba and Guaguanco. Dancers tend to exaggerate the movement of their hips and torso and to use frequently the Enchufla in comparison to other styles of Salsa. Often in our classes, we also do Rueda de Casino, a version of Cuban Salsa. In a Rueda, couples dance together in a circle and perform the moves in unison, following the cue of “the Caller”. Followers are then passed along the circle from partner to partner so that every leader gets to dance with every follower and instantly create a beautiful and synchronized dance routine. //Schedule //Fees //Back to top //FR |

We’ll start simple and gradually add more complex elements like balance, posture, footwork, body movement/isolations, and more. By the end of the month, you’ll reach the fully-fledged routine and have and plenty of new skills to bring to the dancefloor! Open to all levels – just bring your basics in Salsa or Bachata and let’s dance! //Schedule //Fees //Back to top //FR |
